A school director was shot allegedly by a Class IX student in Jaora town of Ratlam district Saturday after he had complained to the teenager’s parents about his refusal to wear uniform to school and general lack of discipline.
Amit Jain, the director of a private school, was rushed to a hospital in Indore after he was shot in the stomach by the student, who had returned home with a country-made weapon after being scolded for not wearing the school uniform.
Harish Jejurkar, the in-charge of Jaora Industrial Area Police Station, said the minor was apprehended and booked for attempt to murder. He said the condition of the 39-year-old director was stable.
The student, who had been skipping school for some time, arrived on Saturday, but was not wearing uniform. The school then complained to his parents about his general lack of discipline and the boy was angry with the director.
Police reportedly detained his parents till the boy was apprehended. Jejurkar said the student’s father faced two criminal cases, including one filed under the NDPS Act.
