Bihar: Siwan journalist murder suspect Mohammed Kaif surrenders

Kaif surrendered when the district police had already attached his property and were also preparing to attach his immovable property.

Mohammed Kaif, a suspect in Siwan journalist Rajdev Ranjan murder case and accused in an extortion case, surrendered before the CJM court of Siwan on Wednesday. He was remanded in 14-day judicial custody.

Kaif surrendered when the district police had already attached his property and were also preparing to attach his immovable property.

He made headlines after his photograph with former RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin, soon after he had walked out on bail, went viral on social media. Kaif was also seen in the same frame with Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who had denied any link with Kaif.

Siwan police were looking for Kaif, said to be a Shahabudin aide, in an extortion case lodged at Town police station of Siwan. His name came up during the investigation of Rajdev murder case as mobile phone records showed that he had been in touch with Rajdev till two days before the journalist’s murder. He had also been in touch with Laddan Mian, the main accused in Rajdev murder case.
