“It is my appeal to all the Congress workers that they should help people in queues outside banks, especially senior citizens and the ones finding it difficult to fill the form,” Gandhi said in a tweet.

“Apart from this, if you come across any poor people having problems in depositing the money, offer complete help,” he said.

After the government demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on Tuesday night, the Congress leader had himself joined a queue at a bank on Friday to get the demonetized currency notes exchanged.

This is bad news. His congress goons may manufacture some serious trouble while in the lines. Hopefully there is no violence.

Had all those who ruled from 1947 onwards not encouraged synchophancy, corruption scams, black money, hawala transactions, there was no necessity for the present situation. We are suffering and paying the cost.

How to identify ,if the person offering help is a congress worker and whether being a congress worker ,bank /other public there will allow him to enter the bank without standing in the queue stead opposition parties should meet the PM/FM and suggest and ask them to adopt some measures ,by which people are not troubled and harred and are in a position to transact with the banks in normal way for their requirement of currency etc.

I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the Hon MP for Amethi. I think he has shown great maturity and the will to help the people of India as we move through this much needed transition. Perhaps he could also help the people of our country by considering his options and finally joining the BJP. Additionally, it would be also be much appreciated by the people, if he could convince Hon CM of Delhi, West Bengal... etc. to do the same. After all, what people really want is for all politicians to share a common platform and work together for our great country.

Good thinking Mr.Rahul. He could have avoided visiting the bank branch yesterday and took this initiative instead. He may advise party workers that help can be given to the public waiting outside by way of filling forms etc., as a social service, at places where no such arrangements are there already ,and also without 1) highlighting party affiliation, 2) any quarrel with the waiting public, 3) questioning the bank officials, 4) talking selfies.

Not necessary to offer help within the bank to the staff. Help can be given to the public out side by way of help filling forms, offering free refreshments etc. By the way IE keeps comments under moderation with no rhyme or reason.
