Estranged BJP MLA from Amritsar (East) Navjot Kaur Sidhu has said there is no clarity yet on the decision that his husband Navjot Singh Sidhu would take about the political future of the couple.
Since the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu from the Rajya Sabha on July 18, Navjot Kaur Sidhu has given many deadlines to announce the next political option of the couple. This time, unlike exhibiting an inclination for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) like earlier, she said all options were open for them.
Talking to media at her home in Amritsar Monday, Navjot Kaur said, “We will take the decision that is best for Punjab. There has been no clarity so far. We will choose a political option which would be best for the Punjab.”
On the possibility of joining Congress, she said, “All the options are open. Punjab has been finding an alternative to come out of present chaos. But certainly Captain Amarinder Singh is not that alternative. He has been facing corruption allegations. He is aged and did nothing for his home constituency. Punjab needs good leaders more than a good political party. All the good leaders of Punjab can come together and represent any party and hence they can save Punjab. I and my husband will follow any option that would be in favour of Punjab.”
On allegations made by Chhotepur that AAP MP Bhagwant Mann had opposed the entry of Sidhu couple in AAP, she said, “It shows such people are after positions and welfare of Punjab is not their priority.”
