A 26-YEAR-OLD woman was murdered after being allegedly gangraped by three men in Ludhiana in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police arrested three suspects — Mohammad Johar, Balbir and Pappu — in the case. They were tenants of the victim and lived in the same building, the police said. The victim’s body was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor. The police said the suspects threw her off the top floor after slitting her wrist and banging her head against a wall. She died instantly, the police said.

Around 1:30 am Wednesday, when the victim was at home with her younger brother, the suspects allegedly barged in and gangraped her. The police said the suspects then allegedly slit her wrist to make it look like a suicide and flung her off the top floor. According to the neighbors, they found the three suspects in an inebriated state and spotted bloodstains on their clothes. The three were allegedly manhandled by some neighbours before being handed over to the police.
