Pune: Nigerian drug peddler arrested

Police said that a native of Lagos in Nigeria, Moses has also worked as a stuntsman in two Hindi films.

THE CRIME branch of Pune city police has arrested a Nigerian national with possession of banned drugs cocaine and mephedrone (MD). Police have identified the accused as Moses Aloka Francis (35), resident of Mira Road in Thane. Police said that a native of Lagos in Nigeria, Moses has also worked as a stuntsman in two Hindi films. Police said he is a drug peddler known as””Princ”” among the racketeers and buyers of drugs in Koregaon Park and Kondhwa area.

Acting on a tip-off to head constable Shailesh Jagtap, a police team laid a trap and nabbed Moses in Koregaon Park area after a thrilling chase on Thursday.

Police said that Moses jumped from a compound wall, near Jewel Square Mall, when the police were chasing him. In the incident, his leg got injured. Police have recovered four grams of cocaine and seven grams of MD, all worth Rs 33,770 from his possession. Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime) Suresh Bhosale told mediapersons that an offence has been registered against the accused at the Koregaon Park police station under sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police said that Moses has a strong built and is good at playing football.
