Against the backdrop of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s “dalali” barb at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, at a Ramlila event here, said politicians in the country should keep in mind the decorum of “Maryada Purushottam” — the title used to describe Lord Rama.

“I want to say one thing. A lot of people don’t remember the traditions of this country. At the Ramlila event of Lord Rama, I want to tell politicians that they should keep in mind the decorum of Maryada Purushottam. And they should heartily welcome the achievements of the Army and the surgical strikes,” Parrikar, who was felicitated at the Luv Kush Ramlila event in the capital, said.

Referring to the surgical strikes, the Defence Minister said, “Something that had not happened in our Army for the last 25 years and which was in every citizen’s mind, the Army has achieved that.”

He also drew a parallel between the Ramlila, which re-enacts the battle between Lord Rama and Ravana, and the surgical strikes. “This is a festive season and the whole country should be alert. Our Army has conducted the strikes in a manner that the people of this country always desired. The strikes have come exactly before Dussehra and our Army has destroyed the enemy,” he said.

Mr DM, so called surgical strikes have been on for many many years, only difference was, there was not any paid media around to publicize it like ur party is doing to gain public favour, ask any retired armed forces personnel how many times they done it. the armed forces only takes orders from the President, not u, shah or modi, or the rss. it is ur party who are putting our armed forces and citizens at risk, while u politician, ur families and properties will be protected by half the forces, while the other will shed blood for your greed of power, war is not a PSP game u are playing, it involves women and children, lives, property, loved ones.

A Surgical Strike :lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;In modern times, a surgical strike is a single action that decapitates or significantly reduces enemy capabilities. The 1967 Israeli surprise air attack that destro most of Egypt’s Air Force on the ground was a surgical;br/gt;lt;br/gt;Members of our armed forces would have crossed the LOC and inflicted damages on the Islamists, but than this they have done in the past too under the UPA govt. Then there was no chest beating , but now a full blown chest beating from 57 inches to 100 inches is taking place within the BJP govt. This is a disgrace to the honour of our brave soldiers who are fighting and laying their lives to protect our nation and to keep us safe from our enemies.

Chest thumping is not required at this stage.A very big problem with Hindus. That is why despite having known warfare since centuries, they still were enslaved for 800 years. After all we have not yet taken out one single prominent terrorist namely Maulana Azhar, or Hafeez Sayeed or Saifulah or touched tiger memon or any of the sheltered ones there.

Surgical strikes or precision strikes of the nature that was so successfully launched last month is unprecedented and probably never attempted by any force in the world on the scale, complexity and depth. lt;br/gt;One must note that stan was expecting some form of retaliation and its forces were on high alert. Hence the strike was was fraught with immense risks. lt;br/gt;The area of interest was a huge 250 kms arc dotted with stani army positions and artillery. There were 8 targets of differing topography and environment. The commandos numbering around 150 to 200 were tasked to destroy specific targets at different locations simultaneously. Exfiltration would lose a critical element of surprise and was highly dangerous. Monitoring, coordination and communication would have been a complex task. The entire operation resulted in one injury and no fatalities. Mission accomplished with resounding success. lt;br/gt;This type of sup moto offensive operation has never been attempted and executed ever before. The me-too brigade that is tom-tomming about raids being done before need to introspect and desist from blatant lies. But that is something one can never expect.

It seems the defence minister does not care for PM's advice not to do chest thumping. No body seems to care for his advice not even party president nor even his home minister! What a funny, rather fake advice is this. Does the PM h as be no control over his party or his ministers is it's just one of many double speaks in the past?

Maryada Purushotham is the type of good advice well directed to BJP members of parliament, the likes of Choudhary Babulal and other worthies who feel they could freely defame and abuse any public personality without fear of the law.
