Advani, who served as the Minister of Home Affairs during NDA regime under Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1998-2004, turned 88 today.  The former deputy Prime Minister was allegedly sidelined by the Modi government after coming to power in 2014 and was not given significant role in key decision-making bodies of the party. The senior leader was included in the Marg Darshak Mandal and served as a mentor to BJP along with Murli Manohar Joshi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
