In case you missed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, don’t worry because the PMO has got you covered.

Lots of people were greeted with a mail with the subject ‘Highlights of Mann Ki Baat April 2016‘ from the PMO on Thursday morning. In keeping with the Prime Minister’s dedication to digital media, this mail carrying quotes from Modi’s April address, came as an attempt to spread awareness about the government’s agendas and initiatives.

After touching the main points of the PM’s address, the mail ends with various links connecting you to the government’s official social media accounts and websites and portals like My Gov, where you can contribute your suggestions, views and perspectives to different subjects.

Below these links, there’s another one to unsubscribe if you want nothing to do with these mails in the future. But don’t be too quick, you don’t always get what you wish for! Unsubscribing is not an option. Going to a blank page of a broken link is.

While we appreciate the PM’s efforts to create a connect with his constituents, his team definitely needs to work on the back-end and ensure such technical glitches do not occur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched My gov, a citizen interaction initiative on July 26, 2014, which now has close to two million members who must’ve received the mail.

Being a software developer myself, I find it rather sad that the developer of such an important email/website did not bother to check his/her work. Specially since half the world relies on software developers from India. Do you think Overseas customers will have more confidence in Indian software developers after reading this story? Or was it that this developer and QA staff were just Govt. employees hired under reserve quota? What a shame!!!!
