Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the country on the occasion of Vijayadashami. He also greeted the Swayamsevaks on the Sthapna Diwas of the RSS. “On the Sthapana Diwas of the RSS, my greetings to all Swayamsevaks & best wishes in their endeavours to serve our nation,” PM Modi tweeted.

PM Modi also remembered Jayprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary, condoning his contribution to democracy. He also paid tribute to Nanaji Deshmukh  for his “selfless service to society” on his birth anniversary.

The prime minister will visit the historic Ram Leela in Aishbagh area of Lucknow on Dussehra on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh’s Principal Secretary (Information) Navneet Sahgal said Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will receive Modi at the city airport but is unlikely to attend the programme.

“The Ravan effigy will be burnt after the Prime Minister leaves the venue. Every year we give a social message as the effigy goes up in flames, and the theme this year is ‘atankvaad ka samool naash’ (destruction of terrorism from its roots),” said Harishchandra Agarwal, president of Ram Leela Samiti, the event’s organisers.

The festival will be celebrated across the country today.

CORRUPTION IS BIGGEST EVIL OF THIS COUNTRY WHICH IS ROAD BLOCK IN PROGRESS AND DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY. THE ILLEGAL MONEY LOOTED BY CORRUPT POLITICIANS IS SPREADING ANARCHY AND TURMOIL IN OUR COUNTRY. MODI GOVT MUST STOP CORRUPTION ON TOP PRIORITY BASIS RATHER THAN TALKING OF OTHER IRRELAVENT ISSUES. MODI SHOULD ENSURE CORRUPTION FREE INDIA SO THAT WE CAN MARCH AHEAD WITHOUT ANY HINDRANCE.
