Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the city on Sunday, visited Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who has been admitted to the PGI hospital here with chest congestion since Friday night.

The hospital administration was informed about the PM’s visit soon after the summit at the Taj hotel concluded. A PGI official told The Indian Express that Modi’s cavalcade arrived at the hospital around 6.20pm. “The Prime Minister interacted with the chief minister for sometime and then left,” said the official.

The PMO had also tweeted that Modi would visit PGI. “PM is visiting Punjab CM Shri Parkash Singh Badal at a hospital in Chandigarh to enquire about his health,” the tweet said.

Sources said Modi enquired about Badal’s health from Dr D Behera, head, pulmonary department, PGI, who is overseeing the CM’s treatment.

An official from the hospital administration said they received instructions from the Chandigarh police that the PM would visit the hospital, but patients and other visitors should not be inconvenienced due to it. “We were informed that the administration should not take any step regarding the visit that could inconvenience people visiting the hospital,” he said.

Doctors said Badal’s condition is stable and better.

Why these leaders are greedy for CM post when he is not physically fit to hold this post ? There is so many other examples when other leaders are still greedy for power e.g. Karunanidhi when he is unable to walk. This is height of Indian politics when people are so greedy for illegal money . The youths are given opportunity to serve the nation so that country can progress speedily. These dying politicians are main road block in development of country. The maximum age limit of 65 years should be fixed for politicians but none of corrupt and greedy politicians will agree for this age limit.
