Two woman teachers of a renowned school in Patna were arrested late on Friday night on charges of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl. A medical examination of the victim, a nursery student at St Xavier’s School, points to an injury in her private parts due to “insertion of a hard object”, said police.
Police said that though the incident took place on October 27, the girl’s family lodged a complaint on Thursday. The girl had reportedly told her parents that two women teachers — she described them as “badi madam” and “chhoti madam”— allegedly asked her to undress in a classroom and then sexually assaulted her.
According to police, the girl’s parents had first approached the school administration with the complaint. The victim did not know the names of the teachers, but identified them when the school called all the teachers of the nursery section before her, said police.
They added that when the school administration did not take any action in the matter, the victim’s parents lodged a police complaint. Patna City SP Chandan Kushwaha said: “The teachers have been remanded in judicial custody. The medical report of the girl points to injury in her private parts”.
