The Lok Sabha Committee on Tuesday summoned Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann on November 28 after he breached Parliament’s security arrangements by shooting a video in July this year. The issue had rocked both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha with the Opposition demanding strict action against him. In a 12-minute video, Mann gives a running commentary when his vehicle crosses the security barricades. Mann is heard saying: “I’ll show you today something you would not have seen earlier.”
The Lok Sabha inquiry committee in September this year had said it was looking into videography issue and was likely to call two Meghalaya MPs, who were witness to the AAP MP’s livestreaming of the security apparatus of Parliament House on July 21. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had set up the nine-member committee on July 25 to look into the issue. The panel was asked to examine Mann’s conduct and recommend action.
