A sub-group of Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, which is looking in to the CWG scam, on Tuesday decided to physically verify assets created for the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi to see if the money was spent for creation of “permanent assets”, as claimed by the then government.

The sub-group, headed by Congress leader Shanta Ram Naik, also suggested that Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha and officials from the PMO be called for the verification of the assets through spot visits.

Besides inspecting various stadia built for the event, members of the sub-group will also visit Safdarjung Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital since costly equipment were purchased saying they would be useful in the future.

The members would see if the equipment were used after the Games.
