Responding to the call of former Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh of Takhat Damadama Sahib, one of the five main seats of the Sikh Panth, around a dozen Sikh organisations on Friday united in Jalandhar against the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). They will draw-up a plan to oust the Badal family from power in Punjab, they announced.

Former Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Damdami Taksal head Bhai Ram Singh, Akali Dal 1920 president Raviinder Singh, Sarav Hind Party’ main leader and general secretary of SGPC Sukhdev Singh Bhaur and several other Sikh leaders present at the meeting said this was a continuation of seven-member committee formed by ‘Panj Pyaras (five beloved) for Panthak unity. They also appealed to NRIs not to follow AAP blindly.
