Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday announced that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 old notes will be accepted for land registration till November 24.

Akhilesh had recently sent missives to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley urging them to allow Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes at private hospitals and medicine shops till November 30 to ensure medical facilities to the poor.

Earlier in the day, the Uttar Pradesh CM accused the NDA government at the Centre of giving nothing but grief to the common man through his initiative to demonetise currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs1,000.

    Is this decision of UP govt permissible, when the central govt has stopped the validity of the old notes ?

    And how is that going to help the poor people Mr. Yadav? Please do not say that poor people are going to buy land of few lakhs and do not have bank accounts. This is the height of corruptness. No wonder Uttar Pradesh is so backward.
