Oil tankers take Bangla route to Tripura

Nine oil tankers and an LPG bullet were flagged off from IOCL's marketing hub at Betkuchi here Friday.

Due to the poor condition of the national highway that connects Tripura with the rest of the country, IOCL Friday sent oil tankers to the land-locked state through Bangladesh. The route will cut the distance by about 20 km.

Nine oil tankers and an LPG bullet were flagged off from IOCL’s marketing hub at Betkuchi here Friday. The convoy will pass through 188 km in Meghalaya to enter Bangladesh from Tamabil, and then enter Kailashahar (Tripura) through Chaltapur, Dipankar Ray, executive director of IOCL’s Assam Oil Division said.
