A day after reports emerged that Chinese nationals were under the police scanner for alleged consumption of beef in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district, senior police officers denied any involvement of foreign nationals in the case. Four Indians have been booked under the IPC and forensic tests of the meat are under way, they added.

The police have apprehended Ram Sagar Jaiswal, who works in a canteen at the Sasan Power Project and was found to be transporting meat by a local VHP unit. The organisation had claimed that it was beef which was meant for Chinese workers at the plant.
