Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur on Wednesday announced that her husband had submitted his resignation to BJP chief Amit Shah.
Navjot Kaur made the revelation on the sidelines of the Punjab vidhan sabha session. Navjot Kaur said that Sidhu had sent his resignation to the BJP leadership in New Delhi earlier on Wednesday.

When asked if Sidhu had spoken to her before resigning Navjot Kaur said “He did not speak to me because he feels I may try to dissuade him. But I know he has resigned and I will make available a copy of the same shortly,” she said.
No official word on the subject, was however, received from Navjot Sidhu on the subject.
Sidhu had earlier resigned from Rajya Sabha where he was a nominated member but had not resigned from BJP despite floating Awaaz-e-Punjab political forum earlier this month.
Speaking about her status in BJP, Navjot Kaur said that she will not resign from the party for the present as there are many development works pending in her constituency. “My people do not want me to leave the party right now and I will take the decision at the right time,” she said.
