Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hit out at opposition parties for their ‘Bharat Bandh’ call against demonetisaion, saying they are organising the strike at a time when he is trying to root out corruption and black money.

“I am stopping black money and corruption and some are giving call for Bharat Bandh,” he said at BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ rally here in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Without naming any opposition party, Modi said, “We are trying to curb corruption and they are organising ‘Bharat Bandh’. Should there be ‘Bharat Bandh’ or should the route of corruption be blocked?”

Several opposition parties have given a call for ‘Akrosh Diwas’ Monday to protest against the Centre’s demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes. The Prime Minister said the decision on demonetisation was tough, “but (the) future will be bright”. Referring to the problems being faced by the common man including villagers in withdrawing money, he advised them to take the e-wallet route.

“Era of wallet has gone, you can use your mobile phone as your bank branch with the same ease with which you take snaps and send them to friends,” Modi said.

Modi said just as people did not have to attend classes to learn how to use mobile phones, they can now use the device in the same way to carry out monetary transactions. “I have already said problems do come. I have sought 50 days from you. Of these, 30 days are still left and the government is taking all efforts to assuage the sufferings of people,” he said.

“Have you learnt how to charge your mobile by going to school? You have learnt to operate WhatsApp. Technology has become easy. If you have (a) bank account, you can purchase whatever you want,” he added. Amid the opposition parties creating uproar over poor implementation of demonetisation and stalling Parliament for days, Modi said he is aware that people are facing inconvenience.

“The NDA govt at the Centre is fully dedicated to the poor, farmers, villagers and dalits,” he said amid applause from the crowd. A united opposition has been attacking the Centre in Parliament over the demonetisation issue, with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh terming the move a “monumental management failure” and a case of “organised loot and legalised plunder” which would lead to dip in GDP growth by at least 2 per cent.

Modi also attacked the Samajwadi Party government in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, saying it was not interested in implementing central schemes for farmers. Thanking the people attending his rally, he said that in 2014 elections when he was himself contesting from Varanasi, he visited many areas of the state but the crowd was not as big.

“As compared to today, only half of people used to come. Now a huge crowd, including women, has come to give me blessings,” he said, adding, “I bow before you for the trust you have on me… I will not betray you.”

Modi lives in fool,s paradise. A man who is not a husband not a father how he will understand the pains one go through bringing up the family. No emotions no affection. He cries only when he sees darkness around him due to his failures.he saw everyone using card in America and thought Indians too would be proud having such cards. He talks of using mobile banking, does he know 80%people can't do this in spite of having mobiles. Had he not been allowed to visit USA he wouldn't have got such nonsense ideas.

The news of the withdrawal of notes caught most people by surprise, leading many to hail the government's success in keeping it a closely guarded secret, it is now emerging the information—or at least a rumour of what was to come—had already reached several ears. Firstly, in April this year, SBI had said that people were withdrawing cash in large amounts in smaller denominations due to rumours of demonetization of ₹1000 and ₹500 notes. Secondly, in the past few weeks, local dailies in Gujarat and elsewhere had also reported that such a move might be in the offing. Thirdly, the BJP's West Bengal unit deposited an unusually large cash amount of Rs 1 crore just before the move's announcement. All these factors indicate that information of the action may well have leaked.

So, the 40 % uneducated people suffered because of demonetisation?. Going by your facts, the poor without electricity and networks were transacting more than 2000 per day and 25000 per week and they suffered after, because of 8/11. lt;br/gt;There is a contradiction in your numbers. lt;br/gt;There are rich among the villagers and poor in the urban. One could not judge by their looks and their claims to be poor. Better go on records and prove the economical status.

The very fact that you are distancing yourself by saying "you Indians" shows that all you want to do is heap praise upon yourself. I think most people here are in favor of corruption-free India, but, it is also a fact that the demonetization has impacted the poorest and most financially vulnerable people very severely. There are villages that don't have banks within a 10-20 km radius, farmers need to go and stand in queues almost all day hoping to exchange their old notes instead of harvesting their crops, just to be told that the banks have run out of paper money and there cannot be any exchanges. There are even cases where farmers who rely on a cash system to sell their harvest to middlemen are unable to do so because of shortage of notes, as a result of which, there are families going hungry.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;Moreover, there is no impact on people who have black money converted to real estate, Swiss bank accounts, gold, foreign currency, etc. Demonetization is just a temporary measure which will yield no results unless it is coupled with tough legal action against wrong-doers. However, the Govt has proved that when details of Swiss bank accounts get leaked (for instance, Panama papers), there is absolutely no legal action taken to jail the people responsible. In the face of such inaction, how is this a fruitful move? lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;It is fairly clear that, while the move has come from a place of good intention, it has turned out to be extremely badly managed, leading to hunger, deaths and in all probability a surge in farmer suicides due to fruits/vegetables rotting away instead of being sold, seeds not being sown in time, etc. You're bragging about not throwing shopping bags on the ground, but this demonetization move has created situations where there are people who cant even afford to shop for food anymore. If you're not in India, sitting abroad and making om judgments about common sense is arguably the most nonsensical thing to do.lt;br/gt;This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information. DEMONETISATION MAY CREATE A HUGE VOTE BANK OF BLACK MONEY HOLDERS AND OTHER ILLEGAL MONEY HOLDERS---some political parties may target this huge vote bank by acting as their protagonist---if a black money holder is a voter his name does not get DELETED from voter list even after black money is confiscated---HE CONTINUES TO VOTE---this requires a REVIEW

we must firmly stand behind modiji in his effort to get rid of corruption. next he needs to account for hidden bullion stacks, say making all bullion transaction compulsorily through govt auth. e-exchange and submitting account of current bullion ets. current technology should make it not so different task to implement.

Modi is a real revolutionary. He is innovative. All other leader whether it is rahul, mamata, nitish or kejri, only know to criticize and have no solution but Modi has solutions. It is really a good idea to transact through mobile rather than cash. Even in some remote villages road side vendors are accepting money through paytm. Why all cannot use such modes?
