Nagpur: 5 Naxals surrender

While the first two carried a reward of Rs 4 lakh each, the other three had Rs 2 lakh each on their heads.

FIVE Naxals carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh together on their heads surrendered before the Gadchiroli police Tuesday, a press note issued by the police said. Kalidas Hupundi, a member of Platun 3 of CPI (Maoist), Jagesh Hidko, member of Platun 15, Ankita Pada, a supply member, Jivan Madavi, a member of supply team and Chetana Natya Manch that sings revolutionary songs, Sukhram Vadde, a militia ,member are the surrendered cadre as mentioned in the note.

While the first two carried a reward of Rs 4 lakh each, the other three had Rs 2 lakh each on their heads. “All of them were prominently involved in Naxal propaganda and violent activities and their surrender has dealt a severe blow to the Naxal movement in North Gadchiroli,” said the release.
