Mumbai Press Club has condemned the Mumbra Police for trying to “falsely implicate” Mid-Day journalist Vijay Kumar Yadav after he helped a rape victim file a police complaint and reported on it. A day after three RPF personnel were booked for allegedly raping a woman in Diva, the woman and a journalist were held for allegedly demanding Rs 95,000 to withdraw the complaint. “Vijay says he was named in the FIR because of his persistent reporting. Mumbai Press Club requests CM Devendra Fadnavis, also Home Minister, to order an impartial probe,” said D Jore, Secretary, Mumbai Press Club.
