Mumbai: Massive fire breaks out near Dreamland Theatre at Girgaum, no casualties reported

The fire reportedly started at around 8:15 pm from the first floor of Mehta Mansion on Tribhuvandas Road.

A level III fire broke out in the evening of Diwali in a four-storey commercial building in Girgaum near Dreamland Theatre. No injuries have been reported.

The fire reportedly started at around 8:15 pm from the first floor of Mehta Mansion on Tribhuvandas Road and spread to the third floor. Soon after the first call, the fire escalated to level II within minutes and by 9:30pm had escalated to level III.

 

The people who were present in the building were evacuated.

The fire brigade had deployed 12 fire engines and eight tankers to douse the fire. An eye witness said the fire had not been could controlled in two hours and there was a steady inflow of firefighters. “There were at least 24 firefighters. Fire could be seen from two windows,” said Badal Agarwal.
