More exchange counters are being opened at Chandigarh International Airport for the benefit of passengers. According to airport officials, Dena Bank will start a currency exchange counter from Saturday morning.
“This will facilitate passengers for exchange of defunct 1,000 and 500 rupee notes. The counter will function from 9 am to 7 pm in view of departing flight timings. Hence, we will serve the maximum number of outbound passengers from Chandigarh airport,” said an airport official.
SBI started one money exchange counter on Friday. Suneel Dutt, CEO, Chandigarh Airport, said this will be in addition to the existing SBI money exchange counter in the arrival area of the Chandigarh airport from which around 150 passengers benefited on Friday.
“We may set up more such money exchange counters for the benefit of passengers and public at large,” he added.
