Mohali to burn Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif’s effigy this Dussehra

Security arrangements in Chandigarh and Mohali were beefed up ahead of the Dussehra celebrations.

The Mohali Ramleela and Dussehra Committee has decided to burn an effigy of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad.

Bobby Kamboj, president of the committee, said that Pakistan was sending terrorists to India and destroying the peace in the country. So they had decided that Sharif’s effigy would also be burnt along with the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarna and Meghnad at Phase VIII Dussehra ground.

Security arrangements in Chandigarh and Mohali were beefed up ahead of the Dussehra celebrations. Special checking drives were carried out and special nakas were also set up on the entry and exit points of both the cities.

The officials of Chandigarh Police said that around 1,000 police personnel would be deputed in the city at various locations, including the venues of Dussehra.
