Home ministry sources Monday said an inquiry would be initiated to ascertain the circumstances under which Kanpur-based meat exporter Moin Qureshi was allowed to fly to Dubai after being detained at Delhi’s IGI Airport Saturday on the basis of a lookout circular.
“We will initiate an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances under which Qureshi was allowed to travel abroad despite a lookout circular against him. If there were any lapses by immigration authorities, the inquiry will fix responsibility for the same,” a home ministry source said.
Qureshi was detained on the basis of the lookout circular issued by Enforcement Directorate, but was allowed to fly to Dubai after he produced a court order permitting him to travel abroad.
