Hundreds of Congress activists on Monday burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shouted anti-Modi slogans at Krishna Nagar crossing in Mathura. “The life of a common man has been thrown out of gear as demonetisation was done without adequate preparation,” said Sohan Singh Sisodia, district president of Congress Committee-Mathura.

Watch what else is making news:

He said the way people are hankering for their own money is a proof that decision of demonetisation was taken in haste. “The worst part of it is that banks are running short of notes with the result that people, after standing in queue for hours are neither getting the money from bank nor from ATMs,” he said, adding that commercial activity has virtually stopped as poor people are the worst sufferers.

Sidodia demanded immediate solution of the problem failing which people would be forced to come on the streets.
