Parrikar, who addressed an event in suburban Bandra, was asked about his dressing sense. The questioner said a section of government machinery thinks that the attire of Parrikar, despite having a major portfolio, is too simple.

Parrikar quipped, “I am uncomfortable in western outfits like suits. Compared toprevious defence minister, my dress is much better.”

“And I do not seek votes over my simplicity like another IITian,” the Defence Minister said, in an apparent jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Shameful attack by Parikar on all South Indians who prefer wearing a dhothi over a pant and short. If hiji were alive today, this man would have said he dresses better than hiji. All the education in the world will not give you cl and basic decency Mr. Parikar. SHAME ON YOU!

Suit enhances the personality of a man. Mr. Parrikar should wear suits. His discomfort will vanish when he will look at himself in the mirror after wearing a suit.

All these general have staff to polish there belt, shoes etc. These are soldiers treated like servants. Indian Generals like US army men stop using shoes which require polishing. Current Raksha Mantri should encourage them

It is disgusting to hear the defence minister dismissing the army actions under the previous government as petty skirmishes and gloating over the recent 'surgical strike.' This government has been in a coma for the past two and half years and needed surgery badly. Unfortunately, it is our jawans who had to face danger rather than the khaki chaddis.
