Criticising Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s silence over the recent surgical strike on terror camps in the LoC, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Sunday pointed out that while all other parties have congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army, Mamata has kept quiet on the issue.

“It shows that the chief minister is not happy over the attack on Pakistan terror camps. The CM will have to break her silence and clear the state’s stand on the issue. The way Bengal has become a safe haven for terrorists, it shows how weak the Bengal government is when it comes to taking steps against these terror outfits,” Ghosh told mediapersons after the conclusion of a two-day meeting of the party’s extended state committee.

“The nation wants to know whether they (the TMC) are on the side of India or Pakistan. Whether they love the country or they are against it,” he added.

Earlier, the BJP had questioned the Trinamool government’s decision of giving “just Rs 2 lakh” to the soldiers from West Bengal killed in the Uri attack, while other states had announced Rs 10 lakh as compensation. “The party decided to launch a ‘Save Democracy Movement’ from November 30 to December 14 against Trinamool Congress’ attempt to make the state Opposition-free by using unfair, undemocratic and unconstitutional strategies,” he said. The party, meanwhile, has decided to complete meetings of the new committees of all its 1,000 mandals by November 15, Ghosh said.

Speaking after the meeting, party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said that if need be, Ghosh would continue as the state party president for another term.

“On and off we get to hear all sorts of news in the media centered around the presidentship of Ghosh. If required, Ghosh will serve as the state party president for the next term as well,” Vijayvargiya said.

Claiming that several CPM leaders had visited him in Delhi in the recent past and expressed interest in joining BJP, Vijayvargiya said: “Soon you will see many CPM leaders close to former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee defecting to BJP.”

“They know that BJP is the only alternative in Bengal, which can give any resistance to the autocracy of TMC,” he added.
Vijayvargiya said strengthening the party organisation and bringing in new faces, especially from the younger generation, would be stressed upon.
Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, who was in the city, joined the meeting later and lauded PM Narendra Modi’s retaliation to the Uri attack.

BJP leaders need not go around the world begging or forcing for complements. It is sick. Not congratulating does not indicate what BJP claimed. lt;br/gt; lt;br/gt; According to it, whosoever did not Congratulate is unhappy. Ridiculous.

In democracy people and their representatives have the right to differ. Even if Mamta differs on Pak policy of Modi (which I appreciate) that should not be given a color of patriotism or nationalism. lt;br/gt; lt;br/gt; Merely not congratulating does not amount to anything.

Let BJP stop this type of misleading propaa to spread confrontation. In India, BJP is not the sole patent holder of patriotism. THere are billions of Indians, other than BJP stake holders, and also all political parties irrespective of their composition, who are equally or more patriotic than BJP.

She congratulated the soldiers. Modiji should share that congratulation by default.

BJP should know that Mamata has to take care of Muslim and that too Bangladeshi Muslim voters for election after elections India communists, and TMC on the same page even SP and BSP followers that attack on stan is the attack on Muslim and they would like to ignore Jehadi's perception to protect their interest for their own politics. All Parties are more frighten to happen if Muslims become Nationalist then in that case their Dukans of Politics will have to be closed down.
