Upset with Nitish Kumar for not backing her campaign against the Centre’s demonetisation move, Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hit out at her Bihar counterpart Wednesday, saying “gaddari karne walon ko nahin chhodenge (betrayers will not be spared)”. Speaking at a dharna in Patna, Banerjee did not name Nitish Kumar with whom she appears to be engaged in a tussle for the leadership of the non-Congress Opposition bloc. She said it pained her that some political parties were not backing her demand that the Centre should roll back its demonetisation decision.

“Jo saath hai to achchha hai, jo nahin hai to dukh lagta hai. Hum kisi ka naam nahin lenge. Yeh janata ki baat hai (It feels good to have support but it pains when you don’t have that support. I will not name anyone. This concerns the people).” She raised several slogans including “gaddari karne walon ko nahin chhodenge, nahin chhodenge”.

Describing the Centre’s demonetisation announcement as “Super Emergency”, Banerjee said: “We have lost our freedom 69 years after Independence. Roti, kapda aur makaan chheen gaya (basic needs such as food, clothing and housing have been snatched). Super Emergency has taken away our freedom.”

Taking another swipe at Nitish Kumar who has been speaking for a cashless economy, she said: “Of 8,000 Bihar panchayats, 5,000 panchayats have little access to banks and ATMs. There are several people who have never been to a bank, forget cashless transactions.” She reminded the crowds that the popular movement against Emergency started in Bihar.

“Desh ko bech diya (the country has been sold). There is need to speak out against demonetisation which is not supported by people who understand economics. Manmohan Singh, a leading economist, has also not supported it,” Banerjee said.

Although she met Lalu Prasad a day earlier, the RJD chief and his sons who are state ministers gave her dharna a miss. RJD vice president and former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh represented the party at the dharna — Nitish Kumar had met Lalu Prasad Tuesday evening and spoken to RJD legislators. After their meeting, Lalu said the Bihar grand alliance was “strong as ever”.

Betrayal is a confused word in Indian politics. Mamta was with nda under Atal. She left and joined hands with Congi. Again finding smooth she betra or what the two parted company. Lalu and nitish betra each other to form an alliance with who else than Congi. So let's keep the betrayal word aside and proceed. Mamta should continue at what she excels, chasing out industry and pushing more and more youth to unemployment. Because without industry how jobs will be created.

Mamta has gone insane.....she lacks basic understanding of the difference between short-term pain/long term gain against rampant corruption and black money. All she cares about is the vote of poor illiterate people whom she can dupe with her senseless protests.

Seems like Mamta has solved all the problems in Bengal and is now focused on Nationwide problems having rallies and propaa around the country. TMC wants to contest in the polls in almost every state.lt;br/gt;Can some one point out what she has accomplished in Bengal? I am really curious of the good and bad of her Governance in Bengal.

Nithish has not lost any money due to demonetisation . But Mamatha (sarada ) Lallu(foder) and congi(scam money),DMK (2g)lost heavily. So it is natural that Nithish didn't share their grief.

Desh ko nahin, Mamtaji, aap jaise choron ko becha hai. The woman has gone senile from the shock of loss of her, her clans and her party's illgotten stash. Someone please get her treated. I am fearful she might harm herself at some stage.

It may be true BJP purchased Nitish Kumar and that is why he supports BJP. BJP pruchaed many leaders in am who were in congress. BJP has the guts to purchase congress loyalits, take Rita Bahuguna and all ex-congress leaders who are now BJP minister. Purchase of MLA, and even Suresh Prabhu (Shiv Sena), shows real culture of BJP, IS going to be another BJP leader, he has to dilute his party. Now since BJP purchased many leaders, there has been cash ban and BJP wants a lot of such money to purchase leaders. What is in BJP , None knows. But they are corrupted and have ruined many party by purchasing leaders through money. Nobody will shift loyalty unless he or she is paid a lumpsum amount.

Many leaders of other party are slaves of BJP, Rita Bhauguna( Congress), Suresh Prabhu( Shiv Sena), w ex-am Congress who are now BJP Minister in am- IS Nitish trying to be another slave for BJP. BJP has a flag of many betra leaders of other party who joined BJP bang. Will Nitish be another shameless? What is the point in supporting cash ban, when leaders get purchased by BJP? BJP's ideology on cash ban, black money becomes baseless, when corruption is in BJP itself? First clean your party ( BJP), then advise citizen. ,okay?

This is the ultimate b of Indian political hypocrisy ! She has lied since 2005, made black money through false pretenses, her party leaders were caught red-handed taking bribes and deprived thousands of people of their hard earned income through false chit schemes. And she talks about " gaddari " !
