Two days after the clash between AAP and SAD workers in Malaut, the police have lodged an FIR against five people. Those who have been booked include Youth Akali Dal president Nippi Aulakh, Lovepreet Singh Lappi Ennakhera, president of Malaut’s Student Union Of India (SOI) and three SAD workers.

Confirming the same, Muktsar SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill said, “All have been booked on the basis of a complaint filed by AAP. They have been booked with charges of trespassing, creating law and order problem and for causing injury.” When asked what action will been taken against them, Gill said,”We have lodged an FIR on the basis of complaint filed with us. We will be investigating the details and due action will be taken as per law.”

However, no one has been arrested till now as the police is still investigating the details. The development comes a day after the SSP had said that it was a case of Daily Dairy Report (DDR) and hence no FIR has been lodged. On Monday, however, AAP leaders Kanwar Sandhu along with Sukhpal Khaira met DGP Suresh Arora over the Malaut incident and demanded strict action.

In the incident, two AAP workers, Gurvinder and Sukhjinder Singh suffered injuries and were admitted in the Civil Hospital in Muktsar. Though, SAD workers were also injured in the clash, but no one has come forward to lodge a formal complaint.
