Maharashtra High Court disposes of PILs against Radhe Maa

The PILs sought various prayers, including action against Radhe Maa for allegedly luring devotees and taking their money.

The BOMBAY High Court on Wednesday disposed of Public Interest Litigations concerning ‘godwoman’ Radhe Maa, saying they were not concerning public interest but are individual matters.

The court said private complaints can be filed in the case with a police station or a magistrate.

The PILs sought various prayers, including action against her for allegedly luring devotees and taking their money.

The court observed that such private cases, increases the pendency of the courts and that the police have a right to hear such complaints and take action in accordance with the law.

Mumbai Police had dropped her name from the chargesheet after she had been named in a dowry harassment case last year.
