Lesotho national booked for ‘rape’ by Ludhiana police

A Lesotho national was booked by Ludhiana police Monday for alleged rape.

According to police, the victim, also from the country, went to the same college in Ludhiana.

Police said the girl, in her complaint filed on Monday, alleged that the accused had raped her in a vacant plot in Jhande village and fled.

The 21-year-old complainant said , the accused, on September 3, had called her outside her hostel. She alleged that the accused was drunk and was accompanied by another friend. The accused asked her to come with him to drop his friend. But when she denied, the accused allegedly raped her.

Inspector Gurdev Singh of Sadar police station said that the complainant had contacted the police on Sunday and an FIR was lodged immediately. He added that the police have also alerted the airport authority to nab the accused in case he tried to flee the country.
