Pathankot attack: With questions being asked on how six terrorists managed to reach Pathankot airbase undetected, Punjab police began probing the “possible role of a smuggler-terrorist nexus” as a facilitator. Police are also studying nine phone calls to Pakistan — the first was an incoming call and the other eight were calls made to Pakistan — from the mobile phone of taxi driver Ikagar Singh whose body was found at a spot before the Katloh bridge over the Ravi. Actor Sanjay Dutt to walk out of Yerawada jail on February 27

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and currently lodged in Pune’s high-security Yerawada Central Prison, will walk out of jail on February 27 after the Maharashtra government cleared a proposal for remission of his sentence. Read more here

North Korea’s Hydrogen bomb test:  “With the perfect success of our historic H-bomb, we have joined the rank of advanced nuclear states,” a state television news reader announced, adding that the test was of a “miniaturised” device.
