A 14-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped from south Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar area last month has been rescued from Motihari in Bihar and two alleged child traffickers have been arrested.

A case of kidnapping was registered at Sarojini Nagar police station on a complaint by the girl’s father on September 2.

“The girl had gone to attend tuition classes on August 30 evening and not returned home,” said Ishwar Singh, DCP (south). The girl somehow managed to call her father on September 28 and told him she was being held hostage somewhere in Bihar, but did not know the exact place.

“Working on this information, police traced the call which came from Labladpur village in Motihari district of Bihar. Later, a police team rescued the girl from there on September 30,” he added.

Police have also arrested accused Sanjay Rai, who had allegedly confined the girl in his house and married her against her will.
