Kerala: 2 CPM men held for murder

According to the CBI, Congress worker Ramabhadran was hacked to death in Kollam by a CPM gang on April 11, 2010. The police, which probed the case, arrested 17 CPM workers in the case.

The CBI on Tuesday arrested two CPM leaders from Kollam, one of them a personal staff member of party minister J Mercykuttiyamma, in connection with the murder of a local Congress leader. The two were identified as Mercykuttiyamma’s personal staff member Maxson and party district committee member K Babu Panicker.

According to the CBI, Congress worker Ramabhadran was hacked to death in Kollam by a CPM gang on April 11, 2010. The police, which probed the case, arrested 17 CPM workers in the case.

However, Ramabhadran’s family moved the high court, seeking a CBI probe. Subsequently, the CBI took over the probe.
