Union Minister Kalraj Mishra inagurated a livelihood business incubation centre at technical service centre of National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) with an aim to train youth and enhance their skills, in Rajkot on Friday.
Inaugurating the incubation centre, Mishra, who is Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Entreprises (MSME) said that the country has a range of industrial training institutes and skill development centres. However, with a view to provide latest technical and professional knowledge to youth keeping in mind the needs of local industries, NSIC had set up the incubation centre in Rajkot.
Rajkot is known for its MSMEs in the sector of auto-parts, oil engines, forging and electric goods.
The minster further said that the centre will train 900 youths every year and help them get self-employed. He expressed hope that the centre will help in making Rajkot a hub of MSME and establish its identity.
Speaking at the ceremony to inaugurate the incubation centre, Gujarat Minister of State for Science and Technology, Govind Patel demanded that Central government construct an exhibition hall which can host trade-shows and where industrial units of the region can showcase their products. Mishra accepted the demand and announced that such an exhibition hall will be buit in Rajkot.
Ravindra Nath, chairman and managing director of NSIC said that the incubation centre will offer couses of three months in trades like bakery, soya milk production, water purification, making utensils, fasion designing, multimedia, mobile handset repairing etc and will provide subsidy on equipments.
