The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Thursday upheld a lower court’s judgment on registering an FIR against Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yasir Qadri for allegedly killing a youth in Tengpora area of Srinagar last month.
While dismissing the J&K government’s petition seeking quashing of the Chief judicial Magistrate (CJM) order, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir said the lower court judge has exercised the power within the confines of law to order the police to lodge a second FIR in the killing of 26-year-old Shabir Ahmad Mir.
“Same will not result in causing any injustice nor is found, in any manner, to be abuse of process of the court. Both the orders are upheld,” the high court said.
