Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is being constantly monitored by an expert panel and being given necessary respiratory support along with other treatment, a bulletin regarding the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief’s health said Monday. The health bulletin was released by Chennai’s Apollo Hospital, where Tamil Nadu CM has being admitted since last month.
“Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa is being constantly monitored by intensivists and other consultants in the expert panel,” read the health bulletin, adding that, “Necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are being given.”
Jayalalithaa has been hospitalised in Apollo Hospital since September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration. She has been undergoing treatment ever since. Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have urged AIADMK to release a video or pictures of Jayalalithaa to end rumours about her condition is more serious than the party is willing to reveal.
Supporters of Jayalalithaa have come out in numbers to show their support for the Tamil Nadu CM with many offering prayers for her health in temples, mosques and even outside the Apollo hospital. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited the hospital said she was recovering well. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu also visited the hospital and said Jayalalithaa is recovering.
