One Pakistan Ranger was killed and another was injured during retaliatory firing on Thursday along the International Border in RS Pura and Arnia sectors in Jammu, said BSF, as reported by PTI. Jammu’s RS Pura and Arnia sectors have seen continuous bombardment by Pakistan in the past few weeks, prompting villagers to migrate to safer places. Ever since India carried out surgical strikes across LoC on terror launch pads, there have been over 40 ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
Constant shelling in RS Pura and Arnia sectors is giving sleepless nights to villagers who are living in constant fear. The continued mortar shelling, which started along the International Border after BSF foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists at Bobiya in Hiranagar sector, on the intervening night of October 19-20, has forced many to migrate to safer places.
In the meantime, the administration has ordered the closure of schools falling in border areas and setting up of camps at safer places. Those still staying in the affected areas have been asked not to venture out of their houses during shelling. Meanwhile, farmers are worried about their paddy crops, which is ready for harvesting.
