The failed attempts to meet separatist leaders by four members of the all-party parliamentary delegation yesterday has led to protest at Satwari Chowk by a group of people in Jammu on Monday.

Raising slogans against Sitaram Yechury (CPI-M), Sharad Yadav (JDU), Asaduddin Owaisi (MIM) and Dr Raja (CPI), the protesters alleged that they, by knocking at the doors of separatists, have insulted the nationalist forces of the state. “They should have tried to talk with everybody within the framework of the Indian Constitution,” said the protesters.

The protest had begun a few minutes before the all-party parliamentary delegation landed at a nearby airport Monday afternoon. However, before the delegation could pass through the site of protest, on their way to a government guest house, the protesters dispersed on their own.

“We welcome the delegation, but we are opposed to separatists who want secession of Kashmir from the country,” they said, adding that talks with all the stake holders shall be held within the framework of Indian Constitution.
