Mehbooba also vividly remembered his interest in the affairs of the Jammu and Kashmir, especially as a part of the three-member interlocutors group for the state in 2008. She extended her sympathies to the bereaved family members of Padgaonkar and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Seventy-two-year-old Padgaonkar, a former editor of The Times of India, was unwell for the past several weeks and died at a hospital in Pune on Friday, family sources said. He had also served as one of the three members of the interlocutors’ group on Jammu and Kashmir set up after continuous unrest in the Valley in 2008.
