Attack on RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja: CBI starts inquiry

A team led by an ASP level officer Davinder Singh, who reached Jalandhar on Monday held a secret meeting with the Police Commissioner Jalandhar and visited spot of the attack, the office and the house of the slained RSS leader.

Five weeks after the attack on senior RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja by some miscreants, the CBI team has finally launched an inquiry. A team led by an ASP level officer Davinder Singh, who reached Jalandhar on Monday held a secret meeting with the Police Commissioner Jalandhar and visited spot of the attack, the office and the house of the slained RSS leader.

The team had seen the entire route which was followed by Gagneja that day while assailants were also following him behind on a bike. According to sources, a senior police officer has also handed the file to the CBI.

Gagneja was attacked near Jyoti Chowk located in the heart of the city on August 6 late evening. And when Punjab Police failed to crack the case DGP Suresh Arora had recommended to hand over the case to the CBI.
