Calling the Islamic State (IS) a terrorist organisation, Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani Tuesday said it does not represent Islam.

“Islamic State is a terrorist organisation that kills innocent people,” Geelani said while addressing a seminar at his Hyderpora residence.

“Islamic State and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) don’t represent Islam.” Asking the youth to not get influenced by IS, the Hurriyat leader also targeted TTP: “Tehreek-e-Taliban is weakening Pakistan. They are cutting the branch on which they are sitting.”
