The remarks come against the backdrop of the row involving Peace International School in Kerala, which offered education in an Islamic environment. Two weeks back, Kochi police had registered a case against the school on charges of promoting communal enmity.

Ayadid said that “kafirs” (non-believers) should not be allowed to decide what Muslim children should be taught. Ayadid, belonging to the Salafi Muslim group, is strongly against mixed education.
