AT A time when the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have sought evidence of the Army’s surgical strikes on terror launch pads along the LoC, NCP chief Sharad Pawar Thursday came out in support of the government.

“The situation demanded that some action was needed to be taken to teach a lesson to the enemies, which was taken. We should all support it. It is irresponsible and irrational to demand evidence of the same. It is not advisable to do that,” Pawar told reporters.

Pawar, however, said that similar strikes were conducted during his term as Defence Minister. “I didn’t mention about it then. I think the Defence Minister is one person who must speak very briefly,” he said.
