Indian Institute of Packaging set to come up in Gujarat

An Indian Institute of Packaging will soon come up in “industrially advanced” Gujarat, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said here Monday. The MoS for Commerce and Industry met CM Anandiben Patel, with whom she discussed the project. “Indian Institute of Packaging will be set up here. It will conduct research on international-standard packaging materials. Industry in Gujarat will get certification from the IIP without the need to go to Mumbai,” she told reporters. “The institute will also provide training and post-graduate diplomas. It will be set up in a phased manner.. With the state government’s support we will be able to do it in five years.”
