A journalist with India Today was brought unconscious to a private hospital in Vaishali on Monday, following a suspected accident on NH24 near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border. Ghaziabad police said the incident took place around 10.30 am when Manas Gupta was on his way to work. “Passers-by rushed him to the hospital around 11 am,” said Atul Kumar Yadav, CO Indirapuram, Ghaziabad police.

Friends and colleagues said his condition is critical. “He has been put on ventilator support. He is still unconscious. He was moved from Max Pushpanjali to Max Hospital Patparganj and is undergoing treatment there. We do not know what happened since he has not regained consciousness,” said a friend.
