Ahead of Independence Day, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday called for a security review meeting at his residence. The high-profile meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau Chief Dineshwar Sharma, Research and Analysis Wing chief Rajinder Khanna and the Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma. The meeting ended in the afternoon, reports ANI.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hoist the tricolour flag and address the nation from Red Fort amid foreign representatives and other dignitaries. Reports suggest over 6,000 security personnel and 200 CCTV cameras will monitor the venue. Along with this, security has been tightened across the capital at various spots in the wake of mass terror attacks worldwide. Metro parking facilities will not be available from Sunday morning till Monday afternoon.

Adding to the team of NSG snipers and commandos, anti-aircraft guns are reported to have been deployed to tackle any aerial intrusion by objects like drones and projectiles. Police has already surveyed the areas surrounding Red Fort and is supposed to deploy forces in the buildings facing the Red Fort. Reports also suggest usage of panoramic photography to closely watch the 605 balconies and 104 windows that open towards Red Fort.
