Incidences of landslides due to incessant rains in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh continued to affect the hill city on Tuesday as vehicular movement was blocked causing problems for the commuters. Several parts of the state, including popular tourist destination Shimla, has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last few days.
According to news agency ANI reports, the roads near Kharapathar region in the state were blocked and the movement of vehicles came to a standstill. A landslide at Nyugalsari area of Kinnaur District on National Highway 5 on Monday night also led to a road block.
Apart from the major routes, the city life is also disrupted because of rains which have led to water-logging at various places. On Sunday, the MeT department had informed that the state received 257 per cent of excess rainfall during the past 48 hours.
Power supply, telecommunication facilities and supply of clean water has also been hit because of the current situation.
